Initially, I had the BAT’s head leaning back and to its right like it had been battered into submission. But I felt like you couldn’t see the battle damage to the head at that angle. So I turned the head to face Red Ross directly. I love how defiant the BAT looks now. It’s not giving up so easily!

I love how you can have this kind of close up of just his back and arm — no face at all, really — and still just know it’s Cad Bane. That’s one of the great things about this figure. One of the things I learned from late, great Hanna-Barbera artist Iwao Takamoto… if you can recognize a character from their silhouette, you’ve created a memorable character.
